Jillian Michaels spent most of her early adolescence significantly overweight. When Jillian Michaels became a teenager, her mom enrolled her into a martial arts class, which led Jillian to put physical awareness at the forefront of her life. Although Michaels worked as a motion picture literary agent at ICM, her passion to help other overweight people lose weight made her quit ICM to focus on personal training. She received personal-training certificates from American Fitness Association and the National Endurance and Strength Training Association along with developing her best selling product Jillian Michael's Maximum Strength Fat Burner. Her martial arts background includes intensive training in Akarui-Do and Muay Thai. In 2004, Jillian Michaels landed a spot as one of the three cast members in the NBC reality series “The Biggest Loser,” alongside trainer Bob Harper and host Caroline Rhea. On the show, two groups of overweight individuals are put to test in an attempt to lose the most weight. For two seasons, Jillian Michaels trained the Red Team, until Kim Lyons replaced her spot on the show. Fortunately for Jillian, she became a celebrity after season 1, which opened other opportunities, such as TV guest appearances on “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” and “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.”
When Jillian Michaels left ‘The Biggest Loser’ in 2006, it didn’t end her quest to help overweight individuals fight their weight off. However, in 2007, Jillian Michaels returned to the US version of Biggest Loser, competing against Bob Harper and Kim Lyons’ teams.
