Jillian Michaels spent most of her early adolescence significantly overweight. When Jillian Michaels became a teenager, her mom enrolled her into a martial arts class, which led Jillian to put physical awareness at the forefront of her life. Although Michaels worked as a motion picture literary agent at ICM, her passion to help other overweight people lose weight made her quit ICM to focus on personal training. She received personal-training certificates from American Fitness Association and the National Endurance and Strength Training Association along with developing her best selling product Jillian Michael's Maximum Strength Fat Burner. Her martial arts background includes intensive training in Akarui-Do and Muay Thai.
